15 Sep Working for free on the EOC
Our recent diploma live brief to re-brand the Equal Opportunity Commission (EOC) has raised the issue of students working for ‘free’ during interships or in business learning experiences.
Interestingly, this point was raised only hours after the AWIA talked about their new secret strategy for documenting pro-bono work. It is a great plan by Bret Treasure to expose the amount of work that is delivered for free or heavily discounted by designers, both traditional and digital. And from a student perspective, may help illustrate how art and design ‘karma’ credits function in professional life.
In the meantime, stay tuned for updates in regard to the EOC. Students have six weeks to pitch and win the chance to work ‘for free’.
